I have always been someone that loves the stars. I love the constellations and astrology and astronomy and everything else that has to do with the universe that we are a part of. Thus, I believe in karma and putting positive vibes and energy out into the world. I really wanted to take the most out of my life in 2019 no matter what. Instead of posting this at the beginning of the month like many people, I thought I would post about what I want from 2019. I want to work with the universe to manifest a good year so here are a few things I want from this year.
3 Things to Look Forward To
1) Going to India in February/March
After nine years (!!) I will be retuning to the motherland at the end of February. This trip just came to be after my grandparents become sick and timing just worked.
2) Moving across the world for a year
I haven’t announced this officially on this blog but I will be in the next few weeks! I’m excited to be leaving the United States and moving back to Asia for a year!
3) Spending time with family
This goal is actually far more personal than it seems. As mentioned above, I will be visiting India after nine years away and this means I can finally see my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and more family. The older I get, the more I wish for expenses with family as an adult and I am so glad 2019 can give that to me.
3 Things to Do
1) Ring in the new year in a new city
This has been a goal of mine for as long as I can remember. I have spent new years in cities that I have lived in or am very familiar with but I want to spend it in a completely new city altogether. Maybe moving this year will allow me to accomplish this goal!
2) Write a book
I have been writing since I was about eight or nine years old and 2019 is the year to truly finish a manuscript. I caught the writing fire in November 2018 for NaNoWriMo and it hasn’t left me yet so I am hopeful.
3) Explore more without reservation
I didn’t realize how abstract this last item was going to be but as I have reflected on what I want for this year, I realized I want my love for life back. I want to explore more of the world in an open, accepting way. In the past I’d look for something specific in a place and after not finding it, I would be disappointed. Instead, I want to look at everything I find and not have any preconceived notions about anything.
3 Things to Improve
1) Reading speed
In the past I used to be able to read extremely fast and still retain all of the information I read. Since I haven’t been reading as much, I have lost that speed and I’d like to get back to where I was.
2) Managing my anxiety
This isn’t really something to improve on because I will always have anxiety but over the years I have worked diligently at become better at managing it! I want to go farther in 2019 by understanding my triggers and acting on relieving my anxiety instead of just living through it.
3) Having and keeping habits
I become better at this in 2018 but in 2019 I want to truly have habits that become a daily part of my life. I want to become better at always doing my skincare and listening to my body because this is the only body I’ve got and I should take care of it.
3 Things to Watch
1) The Lion King live action
I am so nervous about this movie but the teaser made me feel slightly better. I know it won’t live up to the animated movie but I want to be hopeful.
2) Avengers: Endgame
Of the three, this is the one I’m least excited for but I am eager to watch it none the less.
3) How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
I am not ready to let go of this world. I will be watching this movie (hopefully) on release weekend because I have loved this series from the very beginning. It’s rare for my love for a movies series to grow throughout the years but that’s what happened with this series.
3 Places/Monuments to Visit
1) The Taj Mahal
After wanting to visit this moment for my entire life I can finally cross if off my bucket list!
2) The Great Wall of China
As I mentioned above, I’m moving to Asia this year! I hope that I can visit the Great Wall of China before 2019 is over.
3) A new to me city
I love exploring new places and I really want to take a weekend or a few days and explore a new city, regardless of which city it might be.
